Ishin is housed in a 2-story bungalow along Old Klang Road serving freshly made Japanese cuisine at an affordable price. You may pick the bar seats if you wish to watch the chef prepare your sushi or sashimi right in front of you!
They do have a private room at first floor for your personal event!
For an appetizer, their 3 Taste Mini Chawanmushi (RM18) is a good choice as it is instagram-worthy and also delicious! It is served in egg shells with different toppings of sea urchin, tobiko and caviar. It is smooth and has a silky soft texture.
A highly recommended main course in Ishin will be the Chef Special Sashimi set (around RM80+ per person) which includes choice cuts and the Chef’s chosen fish.
However, Sashimi Moriawase at RM72 is also good deal in Ishin which comes with 5 types of sashimi (Red tuna, white tuna, salmon, butterfish and fresh scallops).
Shime Saba Sashimi also known as Japanese Marinated Mackerel (RM58) is a classic dish from Japan. It is first cured in salt then washed with rice vinegar. Mackerels deteriorate fast thus, the Japanese pickle it before serving as sushi.
Sakura soba (RM38) is made by mixing cherry flowers and powdered leaves into buckwheat dough which gives Sakura soba their pink colour. It is available both warm and chilled, but the chilled variety is highly recommended to taste the Sakura aroma and the fine texture of the soba.
Dobin Moshi (RM23) is a teapot clear soup served in an earthen tea pot with prawn, chicken, mushroom, tofu and gingko.
Japanese Mochi (RM35) is a fruit-like Wagashi which looks cute and also taste delicious.
One of the best indulgences is definitely Choco Monaka (RM16). It is heavenly rich Vanilla ice cream wrapped in wafer, centered with delightful crispy chocolate and topped with strawberry drizzle for the perfect blend of taste with every scoop you eat.
